The Earth: a great place to study. Mike Kirby

Education Abroad Program
The Geology department strongly encourages interested students to pursue a portion of their UCD studies abroad. Within the constraints of the campus and College residence requirements, it is possible for students to complete significant portions of the Geology major at an international institution provided that the student consults with one of the undergraduate advisers and carefully plans a course of study abroad that will complement their course work at Davis. In recent years, UC Davis Geology majors have spent their junior or senior years completing upper division course work at Education Abroad Program (EAP) partner institutions including the University of Leeds, the University of Edinburgh (both in the United Kingdom), and the University of Auckland (in New Zealand). For foreign study through EAP, students must apply approximately one year in advance (i.e., in their sophomore year). Students must also maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA for participation in these year-long study abroad programs.

photoBelow are detailed study plans which would allow incoming undergraduates to complete their B.S. in Geology (with a General geology emphasis) in 4 years, including a year studying Geology at either Leeds University (in the United Kingdom) or University of Auckland (in New Zealand).
