May 25, 2006 - Nasa's Phoenix Mars Lander arrives on Mars.
Phoenix lands in Mar's arctic region. Using a robotic arm, Phoenix will dig into the soil to study the soil, water and ice. The two objectives of the Phoenix Mission:
- study the history of water in the Martian arctic and
- search for evidence of a habitable zone and assess the biological potential of the ice-soil boundary.
