March 12, 1928 - St. Francis Dam collapses

Three minutes before midnight, the St. Francis Dam,
a component of the Los Angeles basin water system, collapsed.
A wall of water, over 70 feet tall at its peak,
roared through the Santa Clara Valley, destroying everything in its path.
