the White Sands National Monument, New Mexico.
White Sands is the world's largest gypsum dune field, covering 275 square miles.

UCD Geology grad student Greg Chavdarian is studying structures found at White Sands
and is comparing them to similar structures the rover Opportunity has found on Mars.
