These old boots will walk over you! Bob Matthews logged over a thousand miles on them from tramping through the southern Sierra Nevada high country mapping geology for the State Geologic Map Program, Kings Canyon Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks and Forests (they were even resoled twice!)

Note the condition of the boot where the heels are attached, or perhaps we shoud say "were attached." That cushy-looking white stuff is a spider's' nest!
